History
In 1985, surrounded by the great fashion revolution in the field of trends, María José Wynn Doménech, Victoria Romano and Pep Llorens, associated creative directors in an agency called ADIMTE (Asociación para la Difusión de la Moda Textil Española) closely related to the fashion trend business in Spain, decided to reunite all the talent of Spain’s printing designers in a seasonal publication that would show the world what designers were doing in Spain.

ADIMTE was then organizing its eighth Mostra de Tejidos, a fair reuniting textile creators and manufacturers all around Spain where collections for the next season were shown. What the team headed by Pep Llorens wanted was to reinforce the importance of creativity and design in the process of development of textile trends.

Texitura was so born from the hands of ADIMTE and the reassurance of many important trend forecasters. From the first issue the distribution was taken by the German Mode…information,  that took care that the magazine would reach the most recondite places in the world by means of its presence in the most important international fairs and trendy bookstores.

This sparkling start would only give rise to a great debut. Designers saw a nice opportunity on the possibility of publishing some of their works in the magazine because doing so would assure them that many people interested in their creations would get to know their names and contact information (published along their work). Buyers were happy because the contents of the magazine were of extreme value, the trends were so accurate and had such anticipation and the magazine granted them access to a list of printing designers and a view of their work.

María Jose Wynn Domenech has always been the soul of the magazine. She is a very known art and fashion critic as prove her many collaborations in magazines such View. Her need to be close to the most developed trends has led her to her actual residence in London, from were, in 2006, she started to think about the new TEXITURA. The magazine needed a change in aesthetics and contents and, for this end, she contacted Círculo Textil, a textile design and development agency in Madrid. Together, they designed a series of changes, such as that, starting from issue 44, Texitura would be a yearly publication dedicated to all types of pattern design, not only fashion, and it would reunite the best international artist, from Japan to USA.

Texitura44 was the first issue of the new design, but there have been more. Now you can buy all the new Texituras through this websites and in specialised libraries and fairs all over the world. All of them offer more structured contents, a deeper and compromised development of three trends for each year designed by a creative team leaded by Maria Jose Wynn, and a CD with more than 200 high resolution images.
